ATL X MAVEN
Who is Maven Baseball:
Maven is a high-performance baseball development lab based in Atlanta. They use cutting-edge technology like 360° motion capture and force plates to collect data on players swings and pitching mechanics. These tools are used and trusted by MLB MVPs, MLB All-Stars, top collegiate programs, and elite high school athletes. Their methods have been proven across all levels of play from high school, college and pro and offer customizable plans suited for all players across all levels. Their approach is grounded in precision and performance as they convert biomechanical data into actionable insights that fuels true improvement—not just hype.
Inside Maven: Redefining Baseball Performance
What this means for ATL Lightning Baseball:
1. Access to Maven’s state-of-the-art facility and technology through exclusive ATL baseball pricing.
2. Enhanced training programs tailored to our athletes in one-on-one, small group, and team training settings.
3. Accessible player data, training plans and drills housed in the Maven APP and Maven dashboard. Players and coaches will have access to Maven data to help drive player development.
4. Training for ATL coaches by Maven staff in hitting and pitching development.
5. Expanded opportunities for player growth, exposure, and development.
ATL X Maven Process:
ATL players will sign-up for the program via the Maven website using an ATL Baseball only link. ATL Maven Registration
Deadline to register for the fall assessment is OCTOBER 6th. We are targeting an ATL Assessment Day the week of October 13th, after fall break.
1. Players will get THREE assessments: October, January, and May. Players will work directly with Maven to setup a date/time for their assessment in hitting and/or pitching.
2. As part of the assessment, players and parents will get an one-on-one meeting with Maven coaches to go over their data and outline a training plan.
3. Players will then train with a certified ATL coach for a set amount of time, roughly 8-10 weeks.
4. Following this training, players will then go back to Maven for a follow-up assessment to see their progress.
Cost Structure:
Cost is broken down into two parts:
1) To Maven directly: assessments (biomechanical data via motion capture, force plates, and individual player data meetings with the Maven staff), access to the Maven app to see all data and track training programs.
Maven assessments: $2,500 for THREE assessments that would tentatively occur in October, January, and May. We feel these are key checkpoints in the development of our athletes and coincide with important player development times of youth baseball players.
October: Gives a baseline for where the athlete stands after the summer and heading into offseason training.
January: Reassessment after ATL Winter Training programs. Winter training is important developmental time for baseball players, as they can focus on developing key baseball skills without the pressure to compete on field.
May: After spring season and heading into the summer months, outlines a plan for the summer season.
2) To ATL: player training with ATL staff. Note: Maven staff is not training our athletes. They are supplying their expertise in the assessment process and helping in the training plan design.
ATL Training:
Winter Phase:
November – January: Players will register for the winter programming through the ATL website, called Maven Winter Phase Training. This will differ from the ATL winter training, as Maven athletes they will have their own training group with other Maven assessed athletes and will train on specific plans based off of their assessment. This will also be led by ATL Certified trainers. This training group will ONLY be offered to players who register for Maven assessments. Hitting: $600 for 10 weeks of training, starting November 11th through January 15th. Arm Development: $250 for 10 weeks of training 3X a week starting November 11th through January 15th. This timeline leads up to middle/high school tryouts.
Spring Phase:
February – April: Maven athletes will train with ATL certified coaches during the spring phase after their second assessment. This will be small group training, hitting with no more than 3 per group. Athletes will pay certified ATL coaches directly based on an hourly rate of $120. The cost of the session will be divided up by the amount of players in each training session.
Final Assessment will occur after the spring phase sometime in May which coincides with the completion of high school seasons.
We believe this partnership will take ATL Lightning to the next level and open even more doors for our athletes.
